The Ukrainian-born coloratura soprano Nadiia Sheremetieva is one of Ukraine's most prominent opera singers and possesses a distinct musical intelligence. After a few semesters at the National Academy of Music of Ukraine in Kiev, she completed her studies at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She completed her master's degree with Javier Alonso at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt.
She won first prize at the Yes Academy for American Broadway Competition (Oklahoma City, USA) and prize winner of other international competitions such as the Vienna International Music Competition (Austria) and the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. An accomplished concert singer, Nadiia Sheremetieva has performed in the Damascus Al-Assad National Library (Syria) as well as in the major concert halls of Berlin, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon and Jordan. Recent concert appearances have included important roles in Verdi's operas and in Giacomo Puccini's 'La boème' at Teatro alla Scala, Milan. She made her cinema debut in the film 'Damascus with Love' by Syrian director Mohamad Abdul Aziz. Her operatic repertoire includes works by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Mozart and others, and her wide-ranging concert repertoire includes works from the Baroque to the present. She has sung Bruckner's masses, Mozart's "Requiem", Verdi's "Requiem" and many other uplifting works.
